GS12087 VPA-2 SCIF Schools Drinking Water Project in Rwanda

“SCIF Schools Drinking Water Project” aims to provide safe drinking water to schools and communities in Rwanda. The project consists of the installation of rainwater harvesting tanks and fitting of water filtration systems. By installing tanks with filtration systems school children, staff and their families will be able to access clean drinking water. This reduces the need for the school and households to boil water as a means of purification or consume unsafe water which is the scenario prior to implementation of the project activity. The project will be small scale, and the emission reductions achieved due to avoidance of fuel used for boiling water will be certified by the Gold Standard.
