Production of Char-Briquettes made from Agricultural Residues, Cambodia
The project will produce and distribute char-briquettes made from agricultural residues, primarily coconut shells, as a sustainable cooking fuel for households and street food vendors in Cambodia. Agricultural residues are crushed, carbonized in a rotary carbonization furnace, mixed with a binder, and pressed into uniform briquettes under high pressure. The project uses waste heat recovered from the pyrolysis process for drying, improving energy efficiency and ensuring low residual moisture and consistent product quality. The briquettes are intended to replace traditional wood charcoal, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pressure on forest resources.
