Data-verified Smart Induction Stove Project in Rwanda
The Data-Verified Smart Induction Stove Project in Rwanda is a large-scale clean cooking project that promotes the adoption of modern electric cooking technologies by replacing traditional charcoal and firewood stoves with IoT-enabled smart induction stoves. The project will distribute up to 100,000 induction stoves to grid-connected households across urban and peri-urban areas of Rwanda, enabling a transition to cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable cooking practices. The project applies the Gold Standard Metered & Measured Energy Cooking Devices Methodology V2.0 and utilizes ATEC's proprietary digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (dMRV) platform to continuously record electricity consumption and stove usage. This real-time monitoring ensures accurate, transparent, and fully auditable quantification of greenhouse gas emission reductions. By displacing the use of non-renewable biomass fuels, the project reduces greenhouse gas emissions, lowers household cooking costs and improves indoor air quality. It also creates local employment opportunities and supports sustained adoption of clean cooking through user engagement and performance-based incentives. The project contri
