Climate Protection Project in Karnali Province, Nepal

The project includes installation of improved cook stoves and safe drinking water devices in the rural communities of Jumla and Kalikot district of Nepal. The Improved Cook Stoves suitable to the cooking patterns and geographical conditions and having greater efficiencies will be chosen for implementation. The use of Improved Cook Stoves significantly reduces fuelwood consumption leading to lower greenhouse gas emissions and improves the indoor air quality. Additionally, the water filter reduce the risk of waterborne disease by removing harmful bacteria and viruses from drinking water. The water filter removes harmful contaminants from drinking water, balance the pH of drinking water and ensures safe drinking water.
