Community Safe Water Project in Ethiopia

The project activity includes realization of solar powered safe drinking water systems situated in the Afar, East Hararghe, Somali, Guji and Gumuz regions. The project is addressed to supply safe drinking water for domestic use and consequently to improve the hygiene, social, economic and environmental issues related to the water cycle in rural areas. Moreover, verifiable Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emission reductions are achieved through the reduced wood combustion and the need for water purification through boiling is reduced. The project will also raise awareness among population regarding hygiene and contribute to sustainable development.
