Mozambique Off Grid Electrification (+SOL)

+SOL, the Mozambique Accelerator for Off-grid Electrification, is a programme supporting the expansion of affordable clean energy access in rural and underserved areas through private-sector deployment of solar green mini-grids, solar home systems and related clean energy solutions, in line with Mozambique’s national electrification priorities. The programme also includes a Climate Asset Aggregator function to integrate carbon finance into the off-grid electrification model, including the development and registration of eligible clean energy activities under the Gold Standard framework. Through this structure, emission reductions generated by supported assets can be quantified, certified and monetised to help strengthen the financial sustainability and scale-up of off-grid electrification in Mozambique.
