GS23733 VPA-1 Solar Pumping for Agricultural Resilience in Egypt (SPARE)
Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Egyptian economy. In many areas, precipitation levels are low, meaning that agricultural activity can only be sustained through irrigation. This VPA aims to provide the support to rural farmers in Egypt by supporting the transition to solar PV systems to power irrigation systems. The solar PV systems will help to displace inefficient irrigation systems that are powered by diesel generators.
