Promoting Regenerative Agricultural Practices for Restoration of Farmlands, Carbon Sequestration and Enhanced Smallholder Livelihood in India

Prithu is a climate-focused organization dedicated to advancing regenerative agriculture and nature-based carbon removal solutions. The company works with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and local institutions to implement sustainable land management practices that improve soil health while contributing to climate mitigation. Prithu’s approach combines scientific soil monitoring, community engagement, digital measurement systems, and internationally recognized carbon methodologies to ensure environmental integrity and transparent benefit sharing. The programme is being developed under the Gold Standard Programme of Activities (PoA) framework, allowing multiple project activities across India to be coordinated under a single programme while maintaining rigorous monitoring, reporting, and verification requirements. Launched as a long-term climate and agricultural sustainability initiative, the Prithu Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) Programme aims to support smallholder farmers in adopting regenerative agricultural practices, improving soil health, enhancing farm resilience, and generating additional income through high-quality carbon credits.
