ecoWise Programme for Off-Grid Solar PV

The ecoWise Programme for Off-Grid Solar PV s a portfolio of off-grid solar PV mini-grids located across underserved communities. The VPA brings together small scale and mid sized projects under the ecoWise Distributed Solar Programme. The projects are designed to provide reliable renewable electricity to communities and local enterprises that have historically experienced limited or unreliable access to modern energy services and have depended on diesel generators, petrol generators, kerosene and other higher emission energy sources. Electricity generated by the solar mini-grids will support households, small businesses, public facilities and productive-use activities, including agriculture, retail, education, healthcare and local services. The VPA applies the AMS-I.A methodology for renewable electricity generation by users and is structured to quantify emission reductions from the displacement of fossil fuel based electricity generation.
