ecoWise Programme for Grid-tied and Captive Diesel Displacement with Solar PV

ecoWise Distributed Programme for Grid-tied and Captive Diesel Displacement with Solar PV is a portfolio of distributed solar PV systems installed at commercial, institutional and residential facilities in emerging markets. The projects provide renewable electricity for captive consumption at facilities that have historically relied on electricity from the epileptic national grid and, where applicable, diesel generators used during grid outages or periods of inadequate supply. By generating electricity at the point of use, the VPA reduces dependence on higher emission electricity sources, improves energy reliability and supports the transition of participating facilities towards cleaner and more resilient energy systems. The VPA applies AMS-I.F for renewable electricity generation for captive use and mini-grid applications. Emission reductions are quantified from the monitored renewable electricity generated and supplied by each eligible solar PV system, using the applicable grid and fossil fuel baseline emission factors.
