ecoWise Programme on JUST Transition to Solar PV

The ecoWise Programme on JUST Transition to Solar PV supports the permanent replacement of operational fossil fuel generators with new solar PV systems, battery storage and associated monitoring infrastructure across commercial, industrial and institutional projects. The VPA applies the Joined Up Sustainable Transition (JUST): Fossil Fuel Generators methodology to quantify emission reductions arising from the displacement of fossil fuel and grid electricity by solar. A central feature of the VPA is its Just Transition Plan. Before generator decommissioning, the project will assess whether any workers, technicians, contractors or service providers are directly and materially affected. Where impacts are identified, affected persons will be offered priority access to a Generator to Solar Technician Programme or equivalent proportionate support. Where no directly displaced workers are identified, this will be formally documented and the programme level training initiative will remain the principal transition support measure.
