Canbaz Shipping Group Retrofit Project 1
Shipping is a major source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions globally, responsible for over 1 Gt of CO2eq in 2018, as per the International Maritime Organization's 2020 report. GHG emissions from international shipping are largely from fuel consumption in engines using fuel oil, diesel and some LNG. Energy efficiency improvements in shipping reduce fuel consumption in ships, leading to reduced CO2 emissions. Canbaz Shipping Group (CSG) has made the decision to apply several energy efficiency retrofit measures to their fleet of ships. CSG is undertaking a Gold Standard project to apply for the issuance of carbon credits related to the retrofit energy efficiency measures installed and to-be-installed on a specific group of 6 vessels.
