Infosys Agroforestry Project for Rural Farmers in India
The project seeks to promote agroforestry in rural areas of India. The project's focus is to improve livelihood of the farmer community by enhancing their social and economic status. The project will not only remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere but will also help in building climate resilience among the farming community. The agroforestry system will improve soil fertility, reduce erosion, enhance water retention, and increase resilience to climate shocks such as drought and flooding. The project avoids environmental degradation by reducing synthetic fertilizer dependency and preventing land degradation.
