GHG Emissions Reduction & Sequestration - Afforestation/Reforestation - Future Radici

The Future Radici Programme of Activities (PoA) represents a voluntary, long-term climate and biodiversity initiative developed and managed by Leone Alato SpA, the Coordinating and Managing Entity (CME). It has been conceived as an afforestation and reforestation (A/R) programme to address the interlinked crises of climate change, biodiversity degradation, and ecosystem loss. By planting native, long-cycle, non-invasive trees within the Leone Alato perimeter (Italy end Romania), the overarching aim is to contribute substantively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a principal focus on SDG 13 (Climate Action) through the biological removal and long-term storage of atmospheric carbon dioxide via A/R practices. In doing so, the PoA also contributes to SDG 15 (Life on Land) through the restoration of degraded ecosystems and the strengthening of biodiversity, as well as to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by reducing synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by generating inclusive and equitable socioeconomic opportunities within local communities.
