Bundled Battery Energy Storage and Renewable Energy Generation by AES
The bundled project implemented by AES comprises two renewable power plants: Cristales, which generates electricity exclusively from solar energy, and Pampas, which utilizes both wind and solar resources. Both projects will be located in northern Chile, specifically in the Antofagasta Region, within the Atacama Desert. The project activities include the construction and operation of the generation plants, each equipped with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The installed capacities for Pampas are 120 MW for wind, 230 MW for PV, and 340 MW for BESS, while for Cristales (previously referred to as Andes III) they are 287 MW for PV and 340 MW for BESS.
