BIOPLANTATION Ghana Regenerative Agroforestry Project

BIOPLANTATION is undertaking an agroforestry project in collaboration with local communities in Ghana. The project activity aims to restore degraded, under utilized land by developing biodiverse, regenerative agro forests. These forests will help combat climate change, support food security and create local jobs. The project will include Moringa Oleifera, a fast-growing and climate-resilient tree and associated species, along with local crops like peanuts and native species, to regenerate soil, store carbon, and support local livelihoods. BIOPLANTATION will bring together proven techniques, in a modular and regenerative design, that can be replicated and scaled up to different communities in Ghana. Planting of trees and crops including Moringa, peanuts, native fruits, fire/windbreak species, and aromatic plants. Soil restoration and regeneration will be through nitrogen-fixing plants and organic matter. Enhancing indigenous biodiversity will be by allocating 10% of project land to support pollination, biodiversity, and honey production.
