Sustainable Rice Cultivation for Smallholder Farmers in India
The PoA aims to reduce methane emissions from irrigated paddy fields by implementing the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) technique. Additionally, AWD offers a variety of socio-economic and environmental advantages. It allows farmers to decrease water consumption while maintaining crop yields, thereby improving water management and enhancing overall water access. Overall, the PoA will contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable farming practices, and support environmental and economic sustainability.
