RVPA-1 Methane Reduction by Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) in Indonesia

The VPA for Indonesia, a foundational component of the overarching PoA, focuses on promoting sustainable rice production. The project's core activity is the implementation of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) to reduce methane emissions and conserve water. Serving as the primary pilot for the Rize business model, the VPA leverages a digital platform and on-ground technical support to ensure effective AWD adoption among smallholder farmers. The project aims to improve yields, reduce input costs, and generate a verifiable carbon asset stream that contributes to Indonesia's climate commitments while providing additional income for participating farmers.
