CGR Guatapara Landfill Project
The proposed GS project activity “CGR Guatapara Landfill Project” promotes destruction and utilization of landfill gas (LFG) (rich in methane) generated at the CGR Guatapará landfill, located in the municipality of Guatapará in São Paulo State (South-eastern region of Brazil). LFG destruction and utilization occurs through its collection and destruction in high temperature enclosed flare(s) and its utilization as gaseous fuel for electricity generation (in engine-generator sets installed at the CGR Guatapará landfill as part of the project activity) respectively. Thus, besides methane destruction, the project activity also promotes generation of electricity by using renewable energy source.
